Master Workshop
My next Tuesday night class will begin March 24. This will be a master workshop, open by invitation or application, for former students and other writers who are highly skilled. It’s difficult on everyone when there are wide disparities in writing ability, so for this workshop I hope to minimize creative dissonance by fostering a collaborative atmosphere among writers of comparable levels. If this sounds like the kind of workshop you need, where you can be challenged to do your best work, I'd love to hear from you.

This will be a non-genre-specific prose workshop. Come with a project in mind, or better, in progress. For those new to my approach, I employ a modified workshop method which encourages the active participation of the writer, along with weekly one-on-one sessions with a fellow workshop member and reading aloud. I read and annotate all work.

The workshop will run eight weeks, March 24-May 12, 7-9 pm, at the VIF Education Bldg., 201 Sage Road in Chapel Hill (behind Lowe's on 15/501). The cost will be $250.

If you'd like to take part, please send a writing sample of no more than five pages included in the text portion of the email (no attachments) to johnyewell@gmail.com by March 10. Questions? By email, or text 831-392-7062.
