About John
John Yewell is a fourth generation Californian, born and raised in Ventura County. He’s a Banana Slug, and holds an MFA from San Francisco State. He has been writing and teaching professionally for 35 years, and spent three decades in journalism, at weeklies, small dailies, and as a freelancer.
Since 2013, he has co-run Writeaways Writing Workshops and Retreats with his partner, Mimi Herman (The Kudzu Queen).
John has travelled widely, speaks French and some German, and likes to climb mountains, ride motorcycles, fly, and make art.
The Botsworth Dossier is his Northern California novel. His Southern California novel, The Land of Sunshine, is forthcoming from this press.
